Last week I shared with you that, I have written to you about some of the evil spirits that are prevalent in our nation. I wrote to you about the Jezebel, Ahab and Baal spirits of old being manifest in our nation. I told you that I wanted to share with you about a principality of spirits that are gripping our nation and how to discern them when they want to use you. This principality is written about in the Bible several times and it can sneak up on you and use you without you being aware of it!

 

It is a very powerful principality and only the Lord can destroy it. Paul said in Eph. 6:12,

 

"We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

 

This principality goes by the name of Leviathan and is mention in the Bible several times. The meaning of that word means twisted or coiled. In Job 41 the crocodile is meant. (NIV)

 

" Can you pull in Leviathan with a fishhook or tie down its tongue with a rope? Can you put a cord through its nose or pierce its jaw with a hook? Will it keep begging you for mercy? Will it speak to you with gentle words? Will it make an agreement with you for you to take it as your slave for life? Can you make a pet of it like a bird or put it on a leash for the young women in your house?

 

" Will traders barter for it? Will they divide it up among the merchants? Can you fill its hide with harpoons or its head with fishing spears? If you lay a hand on it, you will remember the struggle and never do it again! Any hope of subduing it is false; the mere sight of it is overpowering.

" No one is fierce enough to rouse it. Who then is able to stand against me?

 

" Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me. "I will not fail to speak of Leviathan's limbs, its strength and its graceful form. Who can strip off its outer coat? Who can penetrate its double coat of armor? Who dares open the doors of its mouth, ringed about with fearsome teeth? Its back has rows of shields tightly sealed together; each is so close to the next that no air can pass between. They are joined fast to one another; they cling together and cannot be parted. Its snorting throws out flashes of light; its eyes are like the rays of dawn.

 

" Flames stream from its mouth; sparks of fire shoot out. Smoke pours from its nostrils as from a boiling pot over burning reeds. Its breath sets coals ablaze, and flames dart from its mouth.

" Strength resides in its neck; dismay goes before it. The folds of its flesh are tightly joined; they are firm and immovable.

 

" Its chest is hard as rock, hard as a lower millstone. When it rises up, the mighty are terrified; they retreat before its thrashing. The sword that reaches it has no effect, nor does the spear or the dart or the javelin. Iron it treats like straw and bronze like rotten wood.

 

" Arrows do not make it flee; slingstones are like chaff to it. A club seems to it but a piece of straw; it laughs at the rattling of the lance. Its undersides are jagged potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge. It makes the depths churn like a boiling caldron and stirs up the sea like a pot of ointment. It leaves a glistening wake behind it; one would think the deep had white hair.

 

" Nothing on earth is its equal, a creature without fear. It looks down on all that are haughty; it is king over all that are proud."

 

A similar description is found in Rev. 12 which is a spiritual description of Satan as a dragon.

 

" And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born."

The Lord designed things in this world to be a shadow of what He wants to reveal to us in the spiritual realm. Here He uses a crocodile and a dragon to explain what the spiritual application is. If you have seen movies of a crocodile then you know it will hide under the water and you won't know it is there until its eyes come above the water. A crocodile will lock its jaws on an arm or leg and pull the victim into the water and twist and twist it until the arm or leg comes off and then will attack the body and kill it with its powerful jaws.

 

One of the characteristics of this principality that is running rampant in our nation, is twisting. This spirit, which is prevalent in our national government and the news media, will manifest itself by twisting the words to mean the direct opposite of the speakers meaning. You only have to turn on the news and watch what is actually being said and then listen to how they twist their words to tell you what they want you to believe!

 

This spirit will sneak up on you if you are not careful. The first thing it will do is to convince you that what it is saying is the truth and once convicted you will find yourself absolutely unteachable on that subject and will find anger and hatred rising up in you! Along with this spirit is a lying spirit and the spirit of pride. The Lord said in Job 41:34 concerning this spirit,

 

" Nothing on earth is its equal, a creature without fear. It looks down on all that are haughty; it is king over all that are proud."

 

 

David said in Psalm 56:5, (NKJV)

 

" All day they twist my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil."

 

If you have heard what Trump is saying and then turn on the media coverage of it, you can see how this spirit will twist his words to mean what they want you to believe. If you have any discernment at all, you will be able to discern this spirit at work.

 

If you try to correct someone who is opened to this spirit it is almost impossible to convince them otherwise. When this spirit gets control of you it moves you into angry conviction. Your mind is locked up and you don't want to hear the truth! This spirit is very allusive! However, if you can catch it in a moment when you are filled with toxic thoughts, anger, wrath, and hatred and a since of violence toward somebody or something, you will know that this is not coming from the Holy Spirit. Knowing that, then you can take authority over that spirit and cast it out of yourself.

 

Jesus did something that was quite out of the ordinary when He was talking to Peter in Mark 8:31-33, (NKJV)

 

"And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

 

Jesus recognized this spirit using Peter to rebuke Him and He cast it out! Once you understand the influence of this spirit you can break its power in you! However, this doesn't stop this spirit from coming back to you if you open the door for it by dwelling on the circumstance that caused you to allow the spirit to come into your thoughts. Peter said in 1 Pet. 5:8, (NIV)

 

" Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

 

We must be very careful what we listen to and allow to come into our mind. Paul said in Phil. 4:4-8, (NIV)

 

" Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."

 

 

Knowing the activities of this spirit, you can now discern it operating in the Democratic Party and even in some in the Republican Party. When you see someone distort the truth and brag about it, you can be sure it is that Leviathan spirit!

 

Someone posted this and I thought it pretty well shows what divides our nation.

 

I still love, even though love is such a strong word, my democrat friends and family but, you see it your way and I see it mine. You saw Trump's arrogance; I saw Trump's honesty. You saw Trump's racism; I saw Trump's words being misconstrued and twisted by the media daily to fit their narrative.

 

You saw Trump as a Republican; I saw Trump as a Patriot. You saw Trump as a dictator, I saw Trump as a leader. You saw Trump as childish; I saw Trump as a fighter, unwilling to cave to lies. You saw Trump as an unpolished politician, I saw Trump as a breath of fresh air. You believe Trump hates immigrants; I know Trump married an immigrant LEGALLY. You saw Trump's cages at the border, I saw Obama's cages at the border.

 

You saw Trump with a struggling economy, I saw Trump with an amazing economy until Democrats shut it down. You saw violence in the streets and called it "Trump's America", I saw violence in the streets of Democrat-run cities who refused Trump's help and who called the violence "Liberal America." You wanted someone more "Presidential", I'm happy we had someone who finally didn't just talk the talk but actually walked the walk. You and I see things very differently. This doesn't stop me from loving you because it was my choice to love you even if we don't see eye to eye!

 

When we discuss our differences, we must be aware of this twisting spirit and not allow it to get into our discussion! In the Kingdom of God, we have the responsibility to make our decisions based on what the word of God tells us! But even then, we can have different opinions based upon our knowledge of the subject. A long, long, long time ago, I set my mind to know the truth and once revealed to me by the Spirit of the Lord, to incorporate it into my life. James said in Ja. 2:19-20, (KJV)

 

" You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that, and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?"

 

The reason that faith is useless without works is because faith is an action word! It's one thing to believe the truth, but an entirely different thing to incorporate it into your life so that your life is an expression of what is true. If you do this you will be a witness of the truth!
